Day #6. In transit, Mondulkiri -> Siem Reap
Today I traveled for 12 hours. I took 2 different buses, the first one dropped me off in the middle of the boonies. I'm glad that some other guy, who was actually Cambodian, was going to Siem Reap as well. It gave me a little confidence that I wasn't just going to be left on the side of the road forever. The second bus was filled beyond capacity– I got the last seat and some other people had to sit on the little red stools in the aisle. That is something that really bugs me about Cambodia's public transportation system. It doesn't matter if the seats are full they keep shoving people on. It doesn't seem fair that they have to pay just as much to sit on a red stool on the floor for five hours. It was a really long bus ride but I made it to Siem Reap by 8:00. I am checked into Ivy Guesthouse 2. It is a very basic room, but really nice receptionists. Tomorrow is day 1 of 2 at the temples.
