Anxiety.

My nerves are starting to kick in! It is so hard to believe that this day is already here. This past weekend was interesting to say the least trying to get everything together last minute. There were lots of little things that I overlooked, like a voltage adapter (thanks Sadie for coming to my rescue), toiletries to last 4 months, and just general packing problems like where I hid all of my paperwork, extra contacts, purse, and Dong. Yes, Dong– the Vietnamese currency. But I have everything with me (I hope).

Thanks to Maren, my last 12 hours have been as American as possible. Happy cow burgers and patriotic beer for dinner, catching up with good friends last night, and this morning a huge breakfast of eggs, home fries, and blueberry muffin french toast at our favorite Brunswick diner. Greasy American food that I won't have for the next few months. But I am okay with that!

There isn't really anything else to say since I am still just chilling in the Portland Jetport. I am hoping that soon some crazy people will come sit near me so I can be entertained for a little bit. I have a long day(s) ahead of me– Portland -> Newark -> Hong Kong -> Saigon. I don't have a lot of time in the Hong Kong airport so I am hoping everything will go smoothly and I get to my gate with no issues. It is crazy how when your flight is delayed (like right now) time in the airport drags on forever but when you have a tight schedule time seems to pass at a rapid rate.  Next post should be much more interesting since I should be in Vietnam. Ahhhh so exciting!
